Margaret M. Sevigny
Margaret Marie Martel Sevigny passed away peacefully on May 19, 2015. She was born on July 17, 1932 a daughter of the late Omer and Blanche (Binette) Martel. She was educated in Sanford and graduated from Sanford High School in 1950. In 1951 she married Robert Sevigny.Margaret enjoyed trips to the beach with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling especially to Kauai, Hawaii, where two of her grandsons chose to live. She also loved to cook and bake. She shared her goodies with family, friends and strangers alike. She could have been a baker! She loved reading, gardening, the Red Sox and Patriots but most of all she loved being with family.Margaret worked her first job at the soda fountain at Saul Shalit's. She then worked in the Goodall Sanford mills and Lake Aircraft where she sometimes would help test fly. Margaret also worked at Nasson College in the business office and eventually became college comptroller. She finished her working career by becoming a legal secretary for Waterhouse, Titcomb, Flaherty, Marass and Knight law firm. She finally retired at age 75.Margaret was predeceased by her parents as well as her husband. She is also predeceased by her sister, Cecile and her nephew, Phillip.She is survived by two children, Susan McPhee of Lyman, Mark (Cathy) Sevigny of Springvale, four grandchildren, Ian, Jon, Chris and Miranda and four great granddaughters, Natalie, Zoe-Bella, Zooey and Karina; her sisters, Pauline and Ken Trolinder of California and Rita and Bob Dion of Virginia as well as many nieces and nephews who all adored her.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10: 00 AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donations in her memory to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 US RT 1, Scarborough, ME 04074.Condolences may be expressed by clicking the condolences tab to the left.Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.
