Jack Scott
Jack Neil Scott, 83, of Sanford, formerly of Bryan, Texas, died Wednesday September 10, 2008 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford after battling a lengthy illness.He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 3, 1925, a son of William Louis and Ora Margaret (Bulman) Scott. He was very proud of his native American heritage in the Choctaw nation.He served in the US Army as a sergeant in Germany and in Korea.His civilian career was as a licensed journeyman plumber for Texas A & M University.He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion and the Sons of Herman. Although he had no formal training, he played the guitar and sang beautifully. Many Saturdays were filled with friends, music and song.He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Dixie, Grace and Betty, and 8 brothers, Marvin, Russell, Leland, James, William, Thomas, Joseph and Louis "Pee Wee".Survivors include his daughter, Karen Walker and her husband Dwayne of Sanford, 2 sons, William Scott and his wife Barbara of Webster, MA, Thomas Scott and his wife Melanie of Houston, TX, a brother, Charles "Buster" Scott of Corpus Christi, TX, 5 grandchildren, Chuck Ethridge and his wife Erin of Nacogdoches, TX, Wendie Binette and her husband Charlie of Sanford, Brandon Scott and Sarah Scott, both of Houston, TX, Jeffrey Walker of Sanford, 4 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Clara, Raegan and Rhiannon Binette, all of Sanford, and his lifelong best friends, Charlie and Lucy Blocker of Bryan, TX.A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.
