Julia J. Russo

Julia J. Russo, 79, of Shapleigh, died July 8 at the Goodall Hospital in Sanford after a long illness.She was born in Boston, MA on May 11, 1933 the daughter of Attila and Genevieve (Haddad) Habeeb, and attended Boston schools.She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. For several years she worked as a volunteer at the Goodall Hospital at the front desk.Talented with her hands, she enjoyed ceramics, carpentry, knitting, crocheting and quilting. She especially loved tending to her flower gardens.She was predeceased by a son, Richard Russo in 2009.Survivors include her husband of almost 62 years, William V. Russo of Shapleigh, son William Russo of Shapleigh, daughter Diane Russo of Sanford, son James Russo and his wife Cathy of Shapleigh, son Albert Russo and his wife Arlene of Albion, daughter Patricia Gorsun and her husband Charles of So. Berwick, son Michael Russo of Worcester, MA, a brother George Habeeb of Malden, MA, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday beginning at 11:00 AM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale where a funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM and flowers are welcome.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
