Jeanne Roy

Jeanne Roy, 89, of Sanford, died April 6 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford after a brief illness.She was born in Sanford on March 13, 1926, the daughter of Cleophas and Agnes Margaret (Michaud) St. Jean and attended Notre Dame School in Springvale.She worked for a time as a seamstress with the Sanford Dress Shop and also for a time with Nike Shoe.Jeanne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose first priorities were her family and her home. She was a communicant of St. Ignatius Church and had served as a Cub Scout Den Mother.She was predeceased by a brother Clifford St. Jean and a sister Annette Quirion.Survivors include her husband of almost 69 years, Roland Roy of Sanford, daughter Irene Hunter and her husband Philip of Dover, NH, son Michael Roy and his wife Kathy of Sanford, son Robert Roy and his wife Grace of Tilton, NH, son Ronald Roy and his wife Ruth of Nottingham, NH, daughter Jackie LaBrecque and her husband Marcel of Saco, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, 66 North Avenue, Sanford. Burial will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery later in the spring.Arrangements are under the direction of Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.
