Albert J. Roux

Albert "Al" J Roux, 82, of Sanford, passed away in Biddeford on Monday, October 26, 2020 in the care of his family. He was born on August 21, 1938, son of Conrad and Emilia (Provencher) Roux. He was born and raised on the Roux poultry farm in Alfred Maine and was the youngest of 13 children. He spent many years tending to the farm before enlisting in the Army. After his military service, Al returned to Sanford to work and raise his family. He worked at Pratt & Whitney for 18 years as a mechanic and retired in 1997.Al was an avid deer hunter, a guitar player, a wood worker, and a fierce horseshoe and Skip-Bo player. Al is predeceased by his wife Rachel Roux, daughter Rebecca Roux, parents and eleven siblings.Survivors include his wife Germaine Roux of Sanford, daughter Tammy Liston of Springvale and her husband Chad and their two children Nicholas and Emily; daughter Nancy Bouffard of Biddeford and her husband David and their two children Abigail and Camron; Step-daughter Pamela Cooke of Townsend MA. and her husband Scott; Step-son Brian Clapp of Sanford and his wife Lisa; and sister Simone Bergeron and her husband Richard of Sanford. Al will always be remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends.A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 10 am at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford.
