Bernadette Roux

Bernadette "Bunny" Roux, 94, of Springvale, passed away on Sunday May 10, 2009 at the Newton Center Nursing Home. She was born into a family of 14 in Notre Dame de Ham, P.Q., Canada on March 28, 1915, a daughter of Clement and Adelina (Plante) Payeur. Mrs. Roux came to the U.S. when she was eight years old and attended Notre Dame School in Springvale. A communicant of Notre Dame Parish, she was a former member of the Daughter's of Isabella and the Ladies of St. Anne.On July 29, 1939 she married Romeo E. Roux in Springvale. For many years she had been employed at Tenneford Weaving in Sanford. She is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Romeo E. Roux. She is also predeceased by two sons in law, Andre "Duke" Dugas and Paul C. Legere as well as all of her siblings.She is survived by her children, Michael Roux and his wife Patricia of Dover, NH, Pauline Legere of Sanford, Lorraine Chabot and her husband, Paul of Sanford and Nancy Dugas and her husband, Earl LeClair of South Portland as well as 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 14th at 11AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church in Springvale.
