Margaret J. Roux

Margaret J. Roux, 79 years old, of Springvale, ME died Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Margaret was born in Sanford on November 2, 1927. She was the daughter of the late William J. and Alvine Porell Monahan. Margaret attended local schools, and was a graduate of Sanford High School.For several years Margaret worked at the Hannaford Supermarket, but her real job, and the love of her life was caring for her family.Margaret was an independent woman that enjoyed the simple things of life at home. She enjoyed reading, tending to her flower gardens, and above all cooking for her family and friends as they gathered in her home, or around the pool.Predeceasing Margaret was a sister Frances, and two brothers, Leon and Phillip.Surviving is Margaret's husband of 59 years Henry E. Roux of Springvale; their daughters, Sheryl A. Roux of E. Waterboro, and Kathleen J. Stanley and her husband George of Shapleigh; three granddaughters and their spouses, Laura and Melvin Leedberg, Shannon and Robert Towner, and Megan and Wesley Thiel. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Katrina, Michael, Aidan, Keagan; two sisters, Louise McDonald, Grace Monahan, and several nieces and nephews.A period of visitation for Margaret will be held this Friday, September 21, 2007 from 6 to 8 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale, where Prayer Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday the 22nd.
