Edward Rivard

Edward (Eddie) Rivard, 52, of Sanford, passed away following a three year battle with cancer, on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland with his family by his bedside. His dear friend Don Morrison stayed with him right to the end. Eddie was born on July 30, 1957 in Nuernberg, Germany, a son of Paul and Anna (Weinstein) Rivard. Eddie was very proud of his German heritage.He came to this country in 1960 with his dad and mom. Eddie was a loving husband, father and true friend. His passion was his Harley motorcycle and doing leatherwork. He was a master leather craftsman by trade. He was a member of the Lafayette Club, Wolves Club and the American Legion Post in Sanford and the Eagles Club in Waterboro.He is predeceased by his father, Paul Rivard, and his grandmother, Oma who he loved with all his heart.He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Tracy (Brennan) Rivard, three children, Dustin, Paul and Maegan all of Sanford, and a stepson, Raymond Johnson. He is also survived by his mother, Ann Rivard and her life companion, Bill Keraghan who is also a dear friend to Eddie, his sisters, Patricia Ogden and her husband, David and their children of Nashua, NH, Tina Rivard of Sanford; dear cousins, Petra, Uli and Sarah; many nieces and nephews, his mother in law, Nancy Brennan; four brothers in law, Kenneth Demers, Timothy Demers, James Brennan and Scott Brennan, and one sister in law, Judy Zamarippa.Visiting hours for Eddie will be held on Friday, June 4, from 5 to 8PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street.
