Yvette G. Richard, 87, of Sanford, died February 15 at the Newton Center in Sanford.She was born in Victoriaville, Quebec, Canada on October 8, 1919, a daughter of Zephirin and Lucinda (Boucher) Jacques. She came to Sanford as a child and attended the former St. Ignatius School.She was employed over the years with Allied Shoe, Sandler, Shoe, the Goodall-Sanford Textile Mills, and Tenneford Weaving from where she retired in 1982 after 20 years of employment.She was a communicant of Holy Family Church, was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and a member of St. Jean de Baptiste.Her husband, Lucien Richard died in 1985.Yvette was a very outgoing person who loved to sing, play the guitar and play cards. She will be sadly missed by all.Survivors include her sister, Monique Laprise of Sanford, a brother, Donald Jacques and his wife Jeannine of New Port Richey, FL, and a sister in law, Marie Jacques of Sanford and many nieces and nephews.At her request there will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Therse Parish, Holy Family Church in May with date and time to be announced. Burial will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Newton Center who gave Yvette such loving care.Memorial contributions may be made to the Newton Center Activities Fund, 35 July Street, Sanford, ME 04073.
