Ruth A. Rankin

Ruth A. Rankin, 88, of Springvale, passed away on Sunday December 10, 2006 at the home of her niece surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Shapleigh on March 17, 1918, a daughter of Frank E. and Florence (Seavey) Bickford.Mrs. Rankin graduated from Lindsey High in Shapleigh. For many years she was employed by Allied Shoe in Springvale. She was a member of the Pleasant Street Free Baptist Church as well as the Shapleigh Grange.Never having any children of her own she became a mother to her many nieces and nephews where they enjoyed going for long car rides.She is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Robert Rankin who passed away in 2001, two sisters, Eleanor Riopel and Marion Walmsley. She is survived by one sister, Dorothea Boothby of Springvale, as well as many nieces and nephews.A graveside service will be held on Thursday December 14 at 2pm at Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.To leave the family a message of condolence please use the "condolences" tab at the left.
