Arthur W. Quinn, 83, of Sanford, died on the glorious spring afternoon of April 8, at the Goodall Hospital in Sanford.He was born in Roxbury, MA on August 29, 1921, the son of Arthur H. and Josephine (Kelly) Quinn.He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II.He was employed through the years in the shoe industry, most recently with the US Shoe Corp. in Cincinnati, OH as a pattern technician in the international division which caused him to travel extensively throughout Europe and South America. He had been a resident of Cincinnati for 17 years, returning to this area in 1992.A communicant of Holy Family Church, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degrees. He was a member and past president of the Lafayette Social Club.He was predeceased by his wife Irene (Roux) Quinn in 1995, and by a son Patrick Quinn in 1959.Survivors include 2 sons, Edward Quinn and his wife Mildred of Norwell, MA, Timothy Quinn of New York City, a daughter, Sandra Brooks and her husband Corey of Sanford, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM in Holy Family Church. Burial will be later in the spring in St. Ignatius Cemetery.
