Nancy L. Proto

SANFORD Nancy L. Proto 53 died Wednesday morning at the Newton Center following a long illness. She was born in Sanford April 30, 1955 the daughter of Carmine & Lorraine (Boucher) Proto. Nancy was educated here and was a graduate of Sanford High School in 1973.She was employed at the former Cormier Textile Co., and Sprague Electric until their closing. She retired from the Dollar Tree store due to ill health.Nancy enjoyed sewing and stitching as well as taking long drives.Survivors are her two daughters, Amy Proto and her significant other Preston Noyes of Sanford, Jessica Proto and her significant other Adam Laitres of Cranston, RI. Her sister Claire Gerry and her husband Darryl of Alfred, and her brother Raymond Proto and his wife Kathy of Sanford and grandson Justyn Proto of Sanford. Four nieces, two great nieces and two great nephews.A memorial visitation will take place Friday from 1 :30 to 3:30 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford, followed by committal prayers at 4 :00 PM at St. Ignatius Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Cancer Care Center York County, c/o Dee Hopper, 27 Industrial Ave., Sanford, ME 04073.
