Jeanne M. Porter

Jeanne M. Porter, 92, of Sanford, passed away on Wednesday June 29, 2016 at the Lodges in Springvale. She was born in Portland on September 25, 1923 a daughter of the late William and Josephine (Boudreau) Arsenault She attended local schools graduating from Sanford High School.A lifelong communicant of the Catholic parish, she was active in the St. Ignatius Parish Guild and was instrumental in organizing parish dances and social events in the 80's and 90's. As a homemaker she also worked part time in the community. Along with her husband George and her sister Reta she enjoyed travelling throughout the United States and abroad.She is predeceased by her husband of 69 years, George R. Porter who passed away this past January and one daughter, Roxane Hulen.She is survived by one son, Blaine W. Porter and his wife, Kathy of Springvale, one grandson, Rick Porter and his wife, Leticia of Westford, MA, one granddaughter, Lora MacDonald and her husband, Parker of Bend. OR, great grandchildren, Rachel and Christopher Porter.Visiting hours will be on Thursday July 7th from 6 to 8PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 12noon at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church.
