Phyllis J. Phaup

Phyllis Jeanette Phaup, 91, of Wells died on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford.Phyllis was born in Sanford on November 24, 1917 to Lois and Alta (Muchmore) Griffin and attended local schools. She worked for many years as a C.N.A. at Goodall Hospital in Sanford until she retired. She had a great love for music and mastered many musical instruments. She was also an animal lover and was very active in the Calvary Baptist Church where she attended. Phyllis will be remembered as a kind and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Walter Phaup; her son, Steve Phaup, her parents, Louis and Alta Griffin, three brothers and three sisters.Surviving are three children Jim Phaup of Zwolle, Louisiana, Phyllis Bachi of Wells and Dick Phaup of Auburn, New Hampshire and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford with the Rev. Todd Bell of the Calvary Baptist Church in Sanford officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Springvale.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of one's choice.Arrangements are through Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home in Sanford.
