Noella E. Pepin
Noella E. Pepin, 79, of Shaw Road in Sanford, a retired office manager and mother of four, died in Sanford on Wednesday, March 31st, after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. A lifelong Sanford resident, Noella was the daughter of Gustave and Maria (Poisson) Roux. She was one of nine children, born on Christmas Eve, and attended local schools graduating from St. Ignatius High School. She married Bertrand R. "Bert" Pepin in 1953. After working for Dr. Richards for a brief time, she joined her husband and his family at R. Pepin & Sons (today's Pepin Precast) and managed their office. This was her lifelong occupation of being by her husband's side in business. She would dispatch trucks and crews to various jobs in York County while doing her accounting. Noella was the voice of Pepin's on both the telephone and radio for many years. Noella lived a rich and faith-filled life, praying often with her favorite Christian, St. Jude. She was a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish at Notre Dame Church. The church fair was an opportunity to work with her daughters, sisters, and friends making items. She also, enjoyed her garden and birds and was often heard to say when she had seen a Cardinal in her garden, "You know it's going to be a good day." Noella was all about family, and was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, Memere, and aunt. The grandchildren's dance recitals, soccer games, baseball games, and high school and college graduations where a must attend on her calendar. She and Bert would often run to the camp on Mousam Lake with their children to relax. They where soon joined by other family and friends where she made her famous spaghetti supper for all. She carefully cared for and loved each member of her family and enjoyed in their successes. Her activities where often focused on family. She loved her autumn rides, her trips to the plays and symphony, train rides, and birthday parties for the family, but most of all her face would light up when a grandchild or great-grandchild would visit. While she had been a businesswoman, Noella had always measured success by the love a family shared. She was a very successful person.
