Donald D. Pepin, 82, of Sanford, passed away on Friday November 7, 2008 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford. He was born on January 22, 1926 in Sanford a son of Alphonse and Clara (Roy) Pepin.Mr. Pepin is a US Merchant Marine Veteran having served aboard oceangoing merchant ships in service to the United States during WWII. On June 26, 1948 he married the former Beatrice Goudreau.He was a lifelong communicant of St. Ignatius Church and a lifetime member of the Rev. John J. McGinnis Council #2231, Knights of Columbus. For many years he was the owner and operator of Pepin Plumbing.He is predeceased by one sister, Jean Brochu.He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Beatrice Pepin of Sanford, his children, Janet Moreau of Chandler, Arizona, Gerard Pepin of Sanford and John Pepin of Sanford, seven grandchildren, Keith Moreau, Dawn Corliss, Talia Lapierre, Britney Pepin, Makenna Pepin, Colby Pepin and Heidi Pepin, five great grandchildren, one brother, Marcel Pepin of Sanford and one sister, Connie Pepin of Sanford.The family would like to thank the staff at the Greenwood Center for the care and compassion extended to Donald during the past few years, also a special thank you to Cathy Currier.Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 6 to 8pm at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11am at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish- Holy Family Church in Sanford.
