Abbott A. Peare
Abbott A. Peare, Jr., 78, of Sanford, died at his home on Sunday, November 15, 2020.Abbott was born on June 21, 1942 to Abbott and Geneva (Thorne) Peare in Standish where he grew up and attended local schools. In 1965 he married Gloria Stanley and they moved to Sanford where they shared 37 years of marriage until her death in 2002. During his working life Abbott held several jobs including working as a taxi driver and at Prime Tanning in Berwick. He went on to work for many years as a driver for York County Community Action where he stayed until his retirement. Abbott was a quiet man who enjoyed spending time at home with his family. He also enjoyed watching wrestling during his free time. He will be remembered as a kind and loving man who was devoted to his family and will be dearly missed.Abbott was predeceased by his wife, Gloria Peare; two children, Jacqueline and Alan Peare; a granddaughter, Hailey Spaulding and three siblings, Robert, Gladys and Ruthie.Surviving are his daughter, Tracy Spaulding and her husband Murray of Lyman; his companion, Brenda Graffam of Sanford; five grandchildren, Christopher Smith of Lebanon, Christin Ireland of Wells, Matthew Spaulding of Sanford, Joshua Spaulding of Waterboro and Nicholas Spaulding of Lyman; two siblings, Keith Peare of Portland and Nellie Taylor of Texas and many nieces and nephews.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 19th at Oakdale Cemetery located on Twombley Road in Sanford. Due to the current situation with COVID-19 all attendees will be required to wear masks and maintain a proper social distance.
