December 23, 2017

Indravadan N. "Dan" Patel, 62, of Springvale, died at his home on Saturday, December 23, 2017. Indravadan was born on June 16, 1955 to Nanubhai and Shantaben Patel in Adada, India, where he grew up and attended local schools. He pursued further studies at university in Navsari, India. At 25 years old, he moved to the United States to seek out promising opportunities for his family. He worked hard for many years at Vishay Sprague, where many loved him, until it shut its doors. After Sprague closed, he decided to return to school here in the US and earn his GED. After earning his diploma, he pursued further technical training in oil burner mechanics and truck driving school. On top of that, he was working toward getting his CDL until his declining health forced him to retire. Indravadan was a keenly intelligent and talented man, skilled in many areas. He was able to accomplish virtually anything he put his mind to whether it be carpentry, plumbing, electrical work or mechanical trades. He was outgoing, social, and extremely generous, always looking to help both his many friends and anyone else in need. He was very proud to have helped many of his family members come and establish themselves in the United States. Indravadan enjoyed gardening and tinkering with anything electronic or mechanical. He was an avid photographer, and particularly loved capturing his family's adventures. He also enjoyed videography and music, especially classic Bollywood cinematography. He had a contagious sense of humor and saw meaning in everything, saving every keepsake in case it had a purpose in the future. He will be remembered as a man of organized chaos, a hard worker and a loving man who was fiercely devoted to his family. He will be dearly missed. Indravadan was predeceased by his father and by his older sister. Surviving are his beloved wife of 37 years, Lalita Patel of Springvale; two children, Nehal and Sunil Patel, both of Springvale; his mother Shantaben Patel, of Adada, India; five siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service and visitation will be held from 10am to 12pm on Saturday December 30, 2017 at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale. To leave a message of condolence for the family please visit www.blackfuneralhomes.com.
