Aun Nou

Aun Nou, 80, of Springvale, died at her home on Friday, June 19, 2015 with her family by her side.Aun was born on April 10, 1935 in Cambodia to Him Nou and Kuong Neang. When she was a young woman she married Sim Sok and together they raised seven children and shared many years of marriage until his death in 1976. She moved to the United States in 1980.Aun enjoyed sewing and gardening and was an excellent cook. She took pride in making a nice home for her family and was known for the wonderful meals that she would prepare. Aun was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and played a large part in helping to raise her grandchildren. She was the matriarch of her family and always made keeping her family close a priority. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Aun was predeceased by her husband, Sim Sok and by a son, Sambun Sok.Surviving are six children, Sambo Sok of Cambodia, Sambin Sok and his wife Chantha of Dracut, Massachusetts, Sambath Sok and his wife Vanny of Texas, Sovanny Ros and her husband Dara of Springvale, Sambok Sok of Lowell, MA and Sovannaky Neang and her husband Veasna of Springvale; a daughter-in-law, Saran Luy of Sanford; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.A funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd at 2:00 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. The family will receive guests from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
