Crystal Newcomb

Crystal A. Newcomb, 74, of Sanford, died on May 21, 2012 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.Crystal was born in Hartford, Connecticut on November 10, 1937 to Valmore and Eva Bachand where she grew up and attended local schools. She was employed for several years as an x-ray technician while living in Connecticut.Crystal was a devoted wife and mother. She was an animal lover and frequently sent donations to the animal shelter. She was particularly fond of her two cats Misty and Mazie. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Delano Newcomb of Sanford; a son, Matthew J. Newcomb of Rochester, NY; three step-sons, Edward Scott Newcomb of Fitchgerald, GA, Michael Wayne Newcomb of South Carolina and John H. Newcomb of Kingsland, GA; seven step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Clover Newman of Connecticut, Celest Olander of Colorado and Carrol Dory of Connecticut and three nieces Karen Gallmon, Ann Johnson and Lynn Wamesger of Connecticut.At Crystal's request there will be no services.Arrangements are under the direction of Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home in Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please visit www.blackfuneralhomes.com.
