Eva Grant Nemetz, 92, died Monday, September 4 at Henrietta D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford.She was born in Shapleigh on March 28, 1914, the youngest child of Barney D. and Sarah H. Sweatt Littlefield. She was married to Ronald Grant of Springvale in 1933 and after his death in 1971 she married Frank Nemetz of Zephyrhills, Florida, who died in December 2000.Eva was a self-taught beautician learning the trade by working in local beauty shops. She earned her state license and operated her own beauty parlor on Main Street in Springvale. She then moved to South Portland and opened her shop on the corner of Broadway at 5 Burnham Street. Her retirement years were spent at her home in Shapleigh on Mousam Lake and a home in Zephyrhills, Florida. For the past four years she has been a resident at Hillcrest Gardens in Sanford.Eva had 9 brothers and sisters and was always the one to whom everyone looked for advice! A special lady with many talents, she was a mother, mother-in-law, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Evelyn Grant of Shapleigh and Plant City, Florida, three grandchildren, Robert Grant of Milton, MA, Kathryn Kranendonk of Valrico, FL, and Nancy Nicolucci of Stafford, VA. She has six great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.A period of visitation will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday September 9 followed by a memorial service at 10:00 AM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.The family wishes to thank the loyal and loving staff at Hillcrest Gardens for the excellent care and special attention given to Eva during the past 4 and 1/2 years. Also a special thank you to the staff at Goodall Hospital for the care and attention during this past week of her illness.
