Peter I. Nelsen

Peter I. Nelsen, 58, of Sanford, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday January 5, 2010, following a short illness at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough. Born in Waterville on October 23, 1951, Peter was a son of the late Warren I. and Mary J. (Conley) Nelsen. He attended Waterville schools and graduated from South Portland High School in 1970.For many years Peter was employed by the New England Telephone Company. He retired from Verizon in 2004. Since May of 2008, Peter had been the owner of the North Berwick Variety Store. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson.He is survived by his wife, Pamela F. (Rose) Nelsen of Sanford, his children; Nicole Guarini and her husband, Louis Jr., of Orlando, FL, Karissa Nelsen of Sanford, Christian Nelsen of Sanford, step children, Stacy Adams and his wife, Mary of Limerick, Cory Adams and his wife, Stacey of North Waterboro, Amanda Butler of Sanford and Ruby Huffstater of Sanford, brothers and sisters, Elaine Nelsen Larsen and her husband, David of Portland, Susan Nelsen Kelley of Midlothian, VA, Joseph Nelsen of Saco, four grandsons, several nieces, nephews and two aunts.A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, January 11th at 2PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
