Prudence A. Nealis

Prudence Ann Nealis, age 75 of Lyman, Maine passed away peacefully, in Portland, on March 2, 2018 after a brief period of illness. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend, Prudence is survived by her husband of forty five years, Dr. Richard Nealis of Lyman, Maine; by her son, Peter Nealis (of Lakewood Ranch, Florida; wife Melanie Nealis) and her daughter, Rebecca Nealis-Albee (of Cumberland, Maine; husband Todd Albee). She is also survived by her two sisters, Sarah Gjettum Nichols of Concord, NH and Pamela Gjettum of Exeter, NH and her four grandchildren: Jackson Nealis (12); Sam Albee (9); Ethan Nealis (8); and Nathan Albee (5). Prudence was born in Concord, NH to parents Stanley and Helen Gjettum. She attended Concord public schools and Plymouth State University. She taught French in Hampton, NH and Saint Thomas School in Sanford, Maine. She attended North Parish Congregational Church and was a long-time Sunday school teacher and active on the Missions Committee. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at North Parish Congregational Church at 895 Main Street, Sanford, ME 04073.Donations may be made, in lieu of flowers, to St. Thomas School at 69 North Ave., Sanford, ME 04073 or to the North Parish Congregational Church.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com
