Althea M. Nalibow

Althea May Nalibow, 96, of Sanford, died December 10, 2009 at The Lodges in Springvale.She was born January 11, 1913, the daughter of Claude and Ada (Durgin) Sawyer.Althea was predeceased by her husbands, Joseph H. Barreras Sr. and Samuel Nalibow and her son, Joseph H. Barreras Jr. She worked for many years in local shoe shops and the Goodall Mills. Althea was a talented seamstress and enjoyed volunteering at the Trafton Center.Althea is survived by her daughters Ruth Lehoux of Sanford and Carmen Nadeau of Springvale, ten grandchildren, many great grandchildren and a great great grandchild on the way.Burial will be in the spring in Riverside Cemetery in Springvale.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Wentworth-Douglas Homecare & Hospice, 113 New Rochester Road - Suite 4, Dover, NH 03820.
