Martha Joanna Moulton, 74, died on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at her home in West Newfield. She was born on May 6, 1943 to James and Martha (Bresnahan) Taylor in Beverly, MA, where she grew up and attended local schools. She received her Associates Degree from Endicott College, and her Bachelor's Degree from Salem State University. Joanna's family had a cottage at Rock Haven Lake, and would come to Maine in the summer. There she met Allen Moulton and they married in 1968. During her working life, she was an elementary school teacher, and a substitute teacher in the Shapleigh, Newfield, and Limerick area schools.When her children were young, she was Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, and was on the Troop Committee for Boy Scouts. She enjoyed working with her hands quilting, knitting, sewing and basket weaving. Mostly, Joanna loved the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.She is predeceased by a son, James Moulton, and a brother, Dick Taylor. Survivors include her husband, Allen Moulton, a son John Moulton and his wife Jenn, of West Newfield, a daughter, Kandis, and husband Shawn Hayes, grand children Brianna and Elizabeth Hayes, and Caeleigh, Kendrick and Brenden Moulton, a sister Cindy Kersing and her husband Carl, of Beverly MA., and many nieces and nephews.There will be a Memorial Service held on Saturday, June 3, at 1:00 P.M., at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale, followed by a burial at Maplewood Cemetery at Maplewood Cemetery in Parsonsfield.
