Gary W. Morrill, a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend lost a long and courageous battle with Acute Myloid Leukemia on Monday June 13, 2016. He conquered Lymphoma 30 years ago which reminded him how valuable life and love was.Gary was born on November 22, 1957, the youngest child to Lawrence (Babe) and Pauline Morrill. Growing up and living his life in the Alfred/Waterboro area he attended local school and graduated from Massabesic High School. He was proud to announce that his career history contained only 2 jobs; He worked at Maine Industrial Tire in Westbrook for 38 years and, until his death, at RSU 57 in Waterboro.Gary was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and taking time to enjoy the calm and beauty of the outdoors. He loved spending time at camp in Passadumkeag making bean-hole beans, listening to the Redsox on the radio, and sharing time with friends. As a friend and father to his sons, he admired, enjoyed, and supported all of their endeavors, whether it be Cub Scouts, Football, Odyssey of the Mind, working on vehicles. He set an example for them to be kind, gentle, and the very best men they could be.Gary was a member of the Alfred Masonic Lodge, the Layfayette Social Club, the Sanford Elks, and local fish and game associations.Gary is survived by his wife, Nancy; two amazing sons, Adam and his partner Stephanie Zepeda, and Stephen and his wife Marie, all of New Hampshire; his mother Pauline, brother Allan (Christine), sister Susan Rhodes (Kenneth) and their children: his cherished niece Amanda and her family, and his favorite nephew Dustin.Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Gary's life in their own way; raise a glass of their favorite beverage, cast a lure into a clam and peaceful lake or enjoy a few moments walking with nature.If you would like, instead of flowers, we would ask all of you to do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone else-pay it forward.Please join us from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, June 17th, with a Masonic Service at 6:30 at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main St. in Springvale. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 18th at 10:00 AM.
