Harry J. Baker, 91, of Sanford, formerly of Lexington, MA, passed away on Saturday May 12, 2007, at the Newton Center in Sanford, Maine. He was born in Somerville, MA, on May 26, 1915, a son of Henry and Eliz (Lyver) Baker. Mr. Baker served his country during WWII and the Korean War as a Navy Seabee.Prior to moving to Sanford in 2000 he had resided in Lexington, MA, where he was communicant of St. Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, a member of the VFW, and the Pipe fitter's Union. For many years he had been employed as a pipe fitter with the E.A. Bermon Co., in Boston.He is predeceased by his wife, Doris (Robbins) Baker who passed away in 1994.He is survived by one son, Robert E. Baker and his wife, Millicent of Cushing, Maine, one grandson, Adam Baker and his wife, Amy of Eagle, Colorado.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 16th at 1pm at St. Therse of Lisieux- Holy Family Catholic Church in Sanford. Burial will be in Lexington at the Westview Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford.To leave the family a message of condolence please use the "condolences" tab to the left.
