Lionel A. Morin

Lionel "Nel" Andre Morin, 76, of Springvale, passed away after a sudden illness on April2, 2016 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was surrounded by his family.He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Julie Morin; his daughter, Marcie Morin-Foisy and her husband, Scott; his daughter, Lisa Shaw and her husband, Paul; his daughter, Rachel Morin; and his two grandsons, Matthew Stevens and Andrew Boston. He also leaves behind several brothers and sisters. He shared a special bond with his sister, Collette Phillips and her husband Weston.Born to Oscar and Louisa Morin on August 19, 1939, he graduated from Sanford High School, in 1959 and joined the Air Force. After an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force he returned to Sanford and met the love of his life, Julie. They married in 1969 and raised their three daughters in Springvale.A man of many talents, he most recently (until two weeks before his death) worked at Hannaford in Sanford where he enjoyed going every day. He was fond of his Hannaford family and he enjoyed socializing with the many store patrons. In his early years, he worked as a Fire Fighter for the City of Sanford, an appliance repair person, and at Sprague Electric.Nel will be remembered by his family and friends as a kind and easy going man with a big smile that lit up a room. He was a hard worker and provided a wonderful life for his wife and daughters. He died a happy and fulfilled man and left his family with a multitude of fond memories. His family is thankful for the wonderful care and support provided to them and Nel while at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.For those who would like to remember Nel, his family asks that you make a donation in his name to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
