Mrs. Alma T. Morin, 88, of Sanford, ME, died on Saturday, November 15, 2008. Most recently, she was a patient at Seal Rock Nursing Home in Saco, ME.Born in Presque Isle on November 19, 1919, Ernest and Helen Moreau Thibodeau named her Alma Louise. The family moved to Sanford and she graduated from St. Ignatius High School. On May 17, 1941 she married Jean Paul Morin and together they raised four children. She worked as a Realtor at Morin-Auger Realty in Sanford until 1972, when she retired.Alma enjoyed traveling and took several trips abroad over the years. She enjoyed swimming, tennis and cross-country skiing. She had a flair for fashion as a seamstress and expanded her artistic talent in photography, oil painting and gourmet cooking. Alma had a thirst for knowledge and eagerly shared her conversation in history, politics and economics. Family and friends would call her before a journey for skilled directions, customs, or highlights to seek out on their excursion. She had a dry, witty sense of humor and was capable of engaging anybody in conversation, regardless of their walk in life. Alma will be remembered as a vigilant and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and great aunt. Her dynamic zest for life will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Alma was predeceased by a daughter, Doreen Curtis, a brother, Raymond "Pete" Thibodeau, two sisters, Catherine Thibodeau, Ruth Barberie and her husband Joseph "Boots" and a brother-in-law, Richard Lovell.Surviving are her husband, Jean Paul Morin who is at Huntington Common in Kennebunk; a son, Stephen Morin and his wife Jacqueline of Sanford; two daughters, Paula Morin of Sanford and Patricia Timms of Winston-Salem, NC; three brothers, Henry Thibodeau and his wife Patricia of Springvale, Philip Thibodeau and his wife Claire of Springfield, MA and Leo Thibodeau and his wife Mary Ellen of Falls Church, VA; six sisters, Ernestine Lovell of Sanford, Claire Garrity and her husband John of Carlisle, PA, Cecile Brown and her husband Calvin of Thousand Oaks, CA, Lucille Thibodeau of Anniston, AL, Rose Devarenne and her husband Stan of Horn Lake, MI and Sr. Martha-Helen, OSU of Lewiston; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, November 17th at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 18th at St. Therse Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford.
