Ernest J. Morin, Jr., 89, of Kennebunk, died on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Ernest was born in Springvale on March 22, 1919 to Ernest and Flavie Boisvert Morin and attended local schools. He proudly served his country during World War II in The U.S. Navy. In 1942, he married Donalda Guay and together they raised four children. Ernest was a very hard working man. He started several businesses throughout his life including a laundromat, a restaurant and a plumbing business. He worked for many years at the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard. After retiring from the Navy Yard, he kept himself active by continuing to operate his plumbing business. When Ernest wasn't keeping himself busy with one of his various businesses, he enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods where he could usually be found playing craps. He liked growing vegetables and when he was younger, he enjoyed dancing. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Wells and Notre Dame Church in Springvale. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Ernest will be remembered as a devoted husband and father and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are two sons, Robert Morin of Lyman and Gerald Morin of Port Richey, FL; two daughters, Ann Morin of Waterboro and Carol Butler and her husband Ben of Waterboro; a brother, Philip Morin of Springvale and four grandchildren, Tina Spicer, Stacy Morowitz, Samantha Morin and Taylor Morin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 14th at St. Therse of Lisiuex, Parish, Notre Dame Church in Springvale. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 163 Lancaster Street, Suite 160 B, Portland, Maine 04101.
