Peter A. Moreau
Peter A. Moreau, 29, of Acton, died unexpectedly at home on January 23rd.Pete was born in Sanford on July 23, 1988, the son of Gregory C. and Melanie (Leedham) Moreau. He attended Acton Elementary School and was a graduate of Noble High School.After high school, he worked briefly for the US Postal Service. He then enlisted in the US Army and served overseas in Dubai in the air defense artillery in the Global War on Terrorism.Pete returned home and had been working in construction up until the time of his death.Pete's father recalled the he was a happy, fun loving guy who had many friends with whom he had many pastimes. He loved animals and hunting and fishing.He was proud to be a veteran, but the most important role in Pete's life was that of Uncle. He simply adored his niece and two nephews, spending as much time as he possibly could with them. Pete will be sorely missed by them and by his family and many friends.Survivors include his parents Gregory and Melanie Moreau of Acton, his sister Jessica Palamar, her husband Hussein and their children Saida and Amir of Portsmouth, NH, his brother Christopher Moreau and his companion Christie Sroka of Acton, his brother Benjamin Moreau, his wife Hayleigh Cabana and their son Mason of Acton, and his girlfriend, Sheila Bedell of Acton.Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Pete's Life on Friday, January 26 from 5-8 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. The celebration will continue Friday evening at the Sanford VFW Post on School Street in Sanford. Burial with military honors will take place in the spring at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
