Louis Moreau
Louis E. Moreau, 83, of Sanford, died on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Louis was born in Sanford on June 5, 1925 to Joseph and Lucienne (Lemlin) Moreau and attended local schools. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. In 1945 he married Fernande Dubois and together the couple had five children. He was employed for 19 years at Cyro Industries.Louis was a dedicated family man and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening, putting together puzzles and making special food dishes to share with his family and friends. He also enjoyed nature. He took pride in his flowers and building birdhouses that he would put around his home so that he could listen to the birds. Louis liked traveling and took trips to Europe, Hawaii and other parts of the United States and Canada. He was a member of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish and the Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.Louis was predeceased by his parents, two children, Cathleen and Raymond Moreau and four brothers, Adrienne, Philippe Maurice and Eddie Moreau.Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Fernande Moreau of Sanford; three children, Rachel Nelson and her husband Bill of Grafton, MA, Donald Moreau and his wife Janet of Chandler, AZ and Jackleen Wallace and her husband David of Arcadia, Florida; a sister, Germaine Cote of Sanford; a brother, Henry Moreau of Lebanon; six grandchildren, Michael Nelson, Jeffrey Nelson, Keith Moreau, Dawn Corliss, Julianne Lennox and Jessica Burbank and four great-grandchildren, Haley Moreau, Cassidy Moreau, Tyler Corliss and Madison Lennox.Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 2nd at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, St. Ignatius Church located on St. Ignatius Street in Sanford. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.
