Lucille Y. McDonald

Lucille Y. McDonald, 92, a longtime resident of Sanford, died August 31 at Huntington Common in Kennebunk.She was born in Debden, Saskatchewan, Canada on April 13, 1921, the daughter of George and Maria (Levasseur) Gauthier.Lucille came to this area and established Lucille's Beauty Shop at the corner of Mechanic and Washington Streets in Sanford. She relocated her shop to 19 North Street, and in 1977 her husband Raymond, known as Mac the Singing Barber located his business there as well. Mac died in 2010. Lucille was also predeceased by her first husband, Robert Lambert in 1944.She was a longtime communicant of St. Ignatius Church.Lucille is survived by several cousins.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, 66 North Avenue in Sanford. Burial will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
