Rachel A. McAdoo, 72, of Shapleigh, passed away on January 1, 2019 at York Hospital with her family by her side. Rachel was born on April 25, 1946 in Biddeford Maine to Louise (Marie) Provencher & Rene Provencher.Rachel wore many hats throughout her lifetime. She worked in the Waterboro tannery for years before driving buses for the school district, then driving dump trucks, oil trucks and recently secretary of Ledgemere Transportation in Sanford.She loved Suzie, her pug who was by her side constantly for almost 16 years before she passed.As a hobby she loved to buy and sell at yard sales, flea markets and wheeling and dealing.She enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, hunting and embracing the nice days trying to hand feed the gray squirrels. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Raymond and Maurice and husband Edwin (Mac) McAdoo.Surviving are her 3 sons, Robert Frasier & his wife Robin of Rochester NH, James Frasier & his wife Diane of Shapleigh, Patrick Frasier & his partner Nancy Wakefield of Shapleigh, her Aunt Theresa Paradis of Saco who was more like a sister to her, six grandchildren, Cindy, Ashley, Dustin, Kara, Evan & Alicia, two great grandchildren who were the apple of her eyes, Dixie & Xander and many nieces & nephews.Special thanks to the workers at Ledgemere Transportation that she instantly made friends with and made her feel at home. Also, a big thank you to all the staff at York Hospital and Hospice.Visitation will be on Saturday, January 12th beginning at 10:00 am followed by a service at 11:00 am at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale Maine. Following the service family and friends are invited to attend a gathering for food and spirits at the Sanford Elks Lodge located at 13 Elm Street Sanford.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Animal Human Society located in Kennebunk, ME.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com
