Rebecca J Mayo the daughter of Leonard and Virginia Osterberg passed away unexpectedly at her residance on November 22.Rebecca (Becky) was born in Portland on April 8th 1966. Her family soon after relocated from South Portland to Buxton where Becky attended School and was a 1984 graduate of Bonny Eagle. After graduation she started working for Shape up till 1991, at which time she decided to make a career change and accepted a position with Nichols. In 2016 Becky achieved a life goal by receiving her CDL drivers license opening a whole new career path for her. Becky was a warm, loving and caring person with in infectious smile. She would get so much joy from giving a stranger a warm smile causing them to smile back at her. To her it was her little way of making their day. She was a hugger, a dreamer, and enjoyed the simple things in life. Becky enjoyed crafts, fishing, gardening, road trips, and anything having to do with the outdoors. She had great love for her two dogs "Maggie Mae" and "Bug" she considered and loved them as her children. Her true passion in life came from her love of horses. That true love sprouted at a very young age when her Father came home with her first horse and continued throughout her life. Becky was predeceased by her parents Leonard and Virginia Osterberg. She is survived by her uncle Donald Osterberg and his wife Beatrice of Standish. Sister Amy Guinard and her husband Shawn of Sanford. Two brothers Darrell Osterberg of Conway New Hampshire, and David McCabe and his wife Laurie of North Berwick. Also survived by three nieces Olivia Guinard, Caitlyn and Calleigh McCabe.Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Thursday November 30th from 11AM to 1PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. A graveside service will be held that afternoon at 2PM at the South Buxton Cemetery.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com.
