Gerald H. Mathews

Gerald H. Mathews, 69, of Sanford, died unexpectedly on January 11, 2008 in Shapleigh.Gerald was born on January 30, 1938 in Harmonsburg, PA to Earl and Lena Mathews. Through Gerald's years he was employed at Cyro Industries for 17 years and later retired after 19 years from Pratt and Whitney.Family was the most important thing to Gerald. He was very proud of the family and extended family that he and his wife had raised.Gerald was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Claudette Mathews. Surviving are six children, Michelle Bernard and her husband Donald of Wakefield, NH, Diane Apraham and her husband Joel of Glastonbury, CT, Joseph Mathews and his wife Lori of Lebanon, ME, Lisa Lavalley and her husband Patrick of Acton, ME, Thomas Mathews of Shawnee, KS and Susan Mathews of Rochester, NH; grandchildren, Albert, Tony, Jeremy, Krista, Charlie and Lucia and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Mason and Kelcey.A period of visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 PM with a funeral following at 1:00PM on Monday, January 14, 2008 at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St. in Springvale.
