Kenneth J. Lyon

Kenneth J Lyon Sr, 63, of Sanford, Maine passed away on August 31, 2017, at his home after a long illness. He was born July 23, 1954 in Danbury Connecticut to Charlotte (Dunbar) & Lester Lyon Sr. Ken loved nature and wildlife. Although he photographed many different types of plants, animals and water sources his passion was getting pictures of moose, "up close & personal". Some of his moose photos were published on calendars by Maine Scene Inc and can also be seen in many tourist shops throughout Maine & New Hampshire on postcards as well as on WMUR ULOCAL under Mooseman54. Many of his other wildlife photos are on display in the outpatient lab at Wentworth Douglass Hospital and his facebook page. He loved to share his photos in hopes of making someone smile and to show them the beauty that God created for us all to enjoy.Ken is survived by his wife Shirley (Starkey) Lyon. They were married on Feb. 2, 2013, his brother Lester Lyon Jr., a daughter Tiffany Lyon Rannebarger of Virginia, and a son Kenneth J Lyon Jr. of Virginia and their families as well as his step children Amanda McCann of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jessica McCann of Kittery, Maine and Joshua McCann of Kennebunk, Maine and their families. He also leaves behind Aunts, Uncles & several cousins.He was an active member of Sanford First Baptist church on Main Street in Sanford, Maine. A memorial service in his memory will be held there on September 7, 2017 at 2:00. The public is invited to attend.
