Robert H. Lord

Robert H. Lord, 90 years old, of Lebanon, ME, and most recently of Sanford, ME died Monday, October 16, 2006 at Kennebunk Nursing Home in Kennebunk, ME.Mr. Lord was born and raised in Lebanon on Pine spring Farm. He was the son of the late Hiram and Edith (Weeks) Lord. He is a graduate of Sanford High School, and over the years he worked as a woodsman, a sawyer, a grocer, a butcher and a surveyor.Mr. Lord loved the outdoors, and was a farmer at heart. He loved to tell stories, read, and reminisce with friends and family. He was most recently a resident of Mayflower Place and enjoyed the company of his many friends there.Predeceasing Mr. Lord was his wife of 61 years Joan Hough Lord.Mr. Lord leaves behind four children; two daughters, Virginia F. Lord of Bury St. Edmund of the U.K., Robyn L. Austin and her husband Donald of Somersworth, NH; two sons, Robert A. Lord and his wife Frances of Portsmouth, NH, and Jeremy M. Lord and his wife Mary of Longmeadow, MA. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Nathan Lord, Ellen Michniewicz, Emily Beach, Jason Lord, Christina Austin, Jashua Austin, Gregory Austin, and six great-grandchildren.There will be no prior calling hours. An 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Lord will be celebrated this Friday, October 20, 2006 at the Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Springvale, ME.For those that desire, the family suggests memorials be made to the Springvale Public Library, 443 Main St., Springvale, ME 04083.Condolences may be expressed by using the tab to the left.
