Michael Leo Letourneau, age 60, of Acton, passed away on Sunday April 3, 2016 at the Greenwood Center with family by his side. Michael courageously battled Primary CNS Lymphoma for the past two years.Michael was born on December 29, 1955 in Metheun, MA to Evelyn and Leo Letourneau. He attended Austin Preparatory School in Reading, MA where he graduated in 1973.Michael and Sheryl Greenleaf were married on November 5, 1976 in Lawrence, MA. Shortly thereafter, they began construction on their home in Acton. On July 27, 1983 their only child, Jennifer Letourneau was born.Michael received an associate's degree in accounting from McIntosh College in Dover, NH 1981. He worked at Fiber Materials Incorporated in Biddeford, ME from 1988-1997, Vishay Sprague in Sanford, ME from 1998-2001, Hussey Seating in North Berwick, ME from 2001-2003, and Goodall Hospital in Sanford, ME from 2004-2013 as a staff accountant.He worked as commissioner of the league for Sanford Springvale Youth Athletic Association from 1994-1997 and as an assistant coach to the women's Southern Maine United soccer team from 1998-2004. He loved cheering on athletes of any age and always encouraged them to do their best.He was dedicated whole heartedly to his family and friends and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. His next great love was classic cars and drag racing and he cherished his sublime green 1970 Dodge Dart.Michael is predeceased by his father Leo J. Letourneau and survived by his mother Evelyn Z. (Van Egroo) Letourneau, wife Sherry (Greenleaf) Letourneau, daughter Jennifer (Letourneau) Fatula and son-in-law John Fatula.Visiting hours for Michael will be held on Friday April 8th from 6 to 8PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, where a funeral service will take place on Saturday at 1PM.
