Yvonne D. Letourneau, 86, of Sanford, died March 5, 2006 at Greenwood Center in Sanford.Mrs. Letourneau was born in South Durham, Quebec in Canada on March 5, 1920 to Ernest and Marie Cote. The family relocated to Sanford when she was three years old. She went to work in the Sanford Mills and then Allied Shoe Shop in Springvale for several years until she retired.In 1939 Yvonne and Robert Letourneau were married in St. Ignatius Church and lived in Springvale and Sanford for the 66 years of their marriage, except for the winters they spent in fort Pierce, Florida.She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and working on crafts, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren.Yvonne was predeceased by a daughter, Helen, her parents and two sisters, Bernadette and Juliette.In addition to Robert, she is survived by a daughter, Delores Arseneault of Annapolis, MD; 4 sons and their spouses, Rene and Colette of Hartford, CT, Paul of Shapleigh, ME, Leo and Marsha of Kennebunkport, ME, and Maurice and Dorothy of Acton, ME; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren; 3 sisters, Ernestine Roux and Clarisse Collette, both of Sanford, ME and Lucienne Michaud of Orlando, FL; 2 sisters-in-law, M. Jeanne Beaupre and Lucy Bergeron, both of Springvale, ME and several nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Notre Dame Church, located on Payne Street in Springvale. There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in the spring at Notre Dame Cemetery in Springvale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of one's choice.
