John Lawrick, 91, of Sanford, died April 10 at Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford after a short illness.He was born in Ashley, Pennsylvania on September 10, 1922, the son of Michael and Catherine (Lucas) Lawrick.John was a veteran of the US Navy, serving on the aircraft carrier USS Boxer in the Pacific Theater during World War II.John was employed for many years as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Sanford.He was a life member of the Sanford Lodge of Elks, was a member of the American Legion and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.He was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Doiron.Survivors include his wife, Lorraine (Demers) Lawrick of Sanford, daughter Jo-Anne Patterson and her husband Allen of Sanford, daughter Beverly Martineau and her husband Roger of New Boston, NH, grandson Chris Doiron, his wife Amanda and their children Noah, Aidan, Sophia and Eli of Kingston, NH and grandsons John Doiron of New Hampshire and Jimmy Doiron of Springvale.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family Church of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, 66 North Avenue, Sanford. Burial with military honors will follow at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale. A luncheon will follow at the Heald Family Center, 574 Main Street, Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a contribution to the charity of one's choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
