Yvette M. Lapierre

Yvette M. Lapierre, 92, of Sanford, passed away on April 12, 2016 in Sanford. She was born in Fall River, MA, on October 6, 1923 a daughter of the late Eugene and Annie (Seifert) Menard. She grew up and graduated from Biddeford High School.She worked at the J. B. Diner as well as the Biddeford Textile mills, Jagger Mill, Tenneford Weaving and Cyro. She also worked as a bus monitor for Sweetser as well as a reader for Edison School and Margaret Chase Smith School and a Literacy Teacher for Baker Company. She was awarded the Starfish award for the Literacy Program. She finally stopped working at the age of 82 where she had been employed by the Sanford School Dept. After this she volunteered at the Old Timers Shop in Sanford.She is predeceased by her husband, Romeo A. Lapierre, two brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren.She is survived by her children, Richard, Romeo Jr., Rodney Lapierre, Judith Fortier, Susan Harper, 40 grand, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com
