Gloria M. Lantagne

Gloria M. Lantagne, 84, of Sanford, died on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Gloria was born on September 5, 1928 to Hervey and Josephine (Croteau) Henri in Sanford where she grew up and attended local schools. In 1955 she married Leo Lantagne and together they raised three children. She worked for many years as a seamstress for Thayer-Diggery and LeBrun's Menswear.Gloria was a devout Catholic and was a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish in Sanford. She was an outgoing woman with many friends and liked spending time with her family and hosting family gatherings. She was also an excellent cook and enjoyed flower gardening. She will be remembered as a loving mother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Gloria was predeceased by her husband. Leo Lantagne and by four siblings, Archie and Anthony Henri, Gladys Salvatore and Georgette Caouette.Surviving are three children, Lea Lantagne of Sanford, Leon Lantagne of Somerville, South Carolina and Leonard Lantagne and his wife Paula of Shapleigh; a granddaughter, Deidra Lantagne of Shapleigh, a brother, Harold Henri of Durham, New Hampshire and many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held from 8:00 to 9:30 AM on Wednesday, January 16th at Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home located at 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church located on North Avenue in Sanford.
