Maria O. Landry

Maria O. Landry, 77, of Alfred, died Tuesday at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.She was born in Caslalvenere, Italy on March 25, 1933, a daughter of Paolo and Terasa (Sterzai) Razza, came to this country and became a US citizen in the 1950's.An Alfred resident for several years, she had previously resided in Waterboro and Sanford.She was employed in several local shoe shops and with Sprague Electric. She also babysat children of all ages for many years.She taught herself English by watching television and listening to her co-workers. She had a great love for family, children, animals, cooking and her flowers.Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Lionel R. Landry, 5 children, Louisa Marega, Brenda Adams, Dawn Polley, Brian Landry, Melanie Dechant, 2 sisters, Graziella Donofrio, Olivia Vardabasso, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 6-8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:00 AM at the Notre Dame Church of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, 10 Payne Street, Springvale. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery in Springvale.Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.
