Joseph J. LaCombe

Joseph "John" LaCombe, 74 years old of Sanford, ME died Monday September 18, 2006 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. Mr. LaCombe was born in Augusta, ME on November 14, 1931. He was the son of the late Joseph N. and Arlene M. (McMann) LaCombe. Mr. LaCombe proudly served his country in the United States Air force where he specialized in crash rescue with the naval fire department. For over twelve years he worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a rigger. Working outdoors was where you could often find Mr. LaCombe. He enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee at Dunkin Donuts, caring for his cats, or working on his blue Chevy Chevette. Mr. LaCombe was a devout catholic and a communicant of Holy Family Church. He loved to go to church as often as he could. Predeceasing Mr. LaCombe was his wife Irene (Morin) LaCombe, and an infant daughter Denise Ann LaCombe. Surviving is a daughter Lisa Hupe and her husband Donald of Sanford, a sister Theresa Maynard of South Carolina, and two granddaughters Jacqueline and Shannan. Also surviving is a stepmother Carmella LaCombe of Berwick, ME; two stepsisters, Patty and Donna LaCombe, and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours for Mr. LaCombe will be held this Thursday, September 21, 2006 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford, ME. A 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 22, 2006 at Holy Family Church in Sanford.
