Henry R. Knight

Henry R. Knight, 73, of Waterboro, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Kennebunk Nursing and Rehabilitation Home (Kindred). He was born in Bridgton, ME on December 8, 1939. He was one of eight children born to the late Raymond L. and Annie Marie (Richardson) Knight.On June 13, 1964 he married Margaret Rohlfes in Connecticut and together they shared 48 wonderful years as husband and wife. Henry served as a volunteer firefighter with the South Waterboro Fire Dept., for a total of 33 years. He also worked as a custodian, boiler man and grounds keeper at Massabesic High School from 1969 until 2009.His family describes him as a fun, loving hardworking man who was easygoing and loved to joke around and make everyone smile. He loved to work with his hand and enjoyed gem collecting and gold prospecting. He also enjoyed the great outdoors and loved to hunt, fish and trap.He was predeceased by his wife, Maggie, who passed away on August 18, 2011, a son Mark Kibbie, his parents, siblings, Raymond Gary, Hazel Manchester, Agnes V. Trumble and Dolly Doughty.He is survived by two sisters, Etta Barnes and Nellie Knight, children, William H. Knight Sr, and his wife, Laurie of Sanford, Kristine Bailey of Milo, James Knight of Sanford and Timothy Knight of Biddeford, 13 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren. Henry is also survived by his extended family, Wilbur Haskell and his wife, Sari and their four children of Alfred.A graveside service will be held in the spring at Pine Grove South Cemetery in Waterboro.
