Cleta S. Kitchen

Cleta Smith Kitchen, 82, of Springvale, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at her residence. She was born in Lynn, MA, on August 28, 1926, a daughter of Joseph H. and Ellen (Stewart) Smith. She graduated from Beverly High School in 1944 and then pursued her studies at the New England Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing. In 1978 she graduated from the former Nasson College. She was an active member of the North Parish Congregational Church in Sanford and a former member of the Rainbow Girls. An avid quilter, she also loved to travel.She is predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Laurence F. Kitchen, one grandson, Dustin "Dusty" Bourque.She is survived by her children, Deryl F. Kitchen and his wife, Dellie of Wells, Craig L. Kitchen and his wife, Judy of Marquette, MI, Kyle C. Osborne and her husband, Thomas of Limerick, Janet E. Bridges of Augusta, Jill E. McCormick and her husband, Robert of Sanford, Karen L. Kitchen and her partner, Barry A. Triplett of Hunwick, England, 12 grandchildren, several step grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a cousin, Virginia Jackson of Peabody, MA, a niece, Tina Gilrein of Arizona, and a nephew, Bill Smith of Louisiana.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 8 at 2PM at the North Parish Congregational Church in Sanford.
