Stephen L. Kimball, 69, of Springvale, died at his home on February 2, 2014.Steve was born in Leominster, Massachusetts on June 4, 1944 to Stephen D. and Lauretta (Fife) Kimball. He graduated from St. Bernard's High School in Fitchburg, MA in 1962 and went on to Becker Junior College in Worcester, MA where he earned his degree in accounting. He was employed in sales for the majority of his life. He started out working as a food broker supervisor with E.I. Dupont DeNemours and went on to become a sales representative for Ambassador Cards, a division of Hallmark. He also worked as a national service manager for Charm Craft Greeting Cards and then as a district sales manager and regional sales manager for Drawing Board Greeting Cards. He had worked as the national sales manager for Renaissance Greeting Cards of Sanford and as a sales representative for Thomas Kinkade artwork and Walt Disney artwork. He also worked part-time selling mattresses for America's Mattresses in Sanford before he retired in 2007. Steve loved to sing. He was a devout Catholic and had attended the Notre Dame Chapel in Alfred. He will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Kathleen E. (Regan) Kimball; his son Stephen D. Kimball and his wife Kimberly and their two children, Bridget and Brady, of Richmond, VA; his son John P. Kimball of New Bedford, MA; his daughter, Laura Dassow and her son Colin of St. John's Florida; his sister, Stephanie Lambert and her husband Martin of Leominster, MA; his brother Brian of Salt Lake City, UT and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 6th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 7th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church, located on Payne Street in Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the York County Shelters Food Pantry and Meals Kitchen, 140 Shaker Hill Road, Alfred, Maine 04002.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
