Charles George Kerrigan, Sr. 53yrs.old, of Springvale passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018. He was born in Sanford on April 4, 1965, the son of Donald and Georgianna Kerrigan. He graduated from Sanford High School in 1983, and over the course of his career as a mechanic, he worked for Sprague Electric, JJ Nissan Bakery, and Poland Springs Water. In his spare time, Charlie was an outdoorsman. People who knew him fondly recall his active lifestyle-that he was always building and planning, hiking and camping, and that he never failed to capture the moment on his handy video camera. Additionally, the animals that knew him fondly recall his activity in their lives; he observed and nurtured almost any animal that was lucky enough wander into his backyard. A lifelong learner and a casual philosopher, Charlie was often studying or writing, always preparing himself for his next creative project. One project of which he was particularly fond was his house, a two-story structure he spent almost seven years designing and constructing himself. A generous person, Charlie never kept his creativity to himself, bestowing woodworking, jewelry, clothes, and other gifts to those around him. Charlie was a man of Faith and his life verse was: Isaiah 40:31But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. His survivors include his siblings Donna Dewitt, Diane White, and Patrick Kerrigan as well as Stacey Kerrigan, and his children Charles (Chaz) George Kerrigan, Jr., and Laken Kerrigan.A service will be held Saturday, June 9th at 11:00am at South Berwick Free Baptist Church, with a reception immediately following.Memorial contributions may be made to his children Charles Jr. and Laken Kerrigan 173 Deering Neighborhood Road Springvale, Maine
