Adrienne Kalman, 88, of Sanford, passed away on July 17, 2009 at the Greenwood Center after a brief illness. She had been a resident of Mayflower Place in Sanford. She was born on May 29, 1921, in Sanford, a daughter of Joseph and Amanda (Beaudoin) Chevalier. She attended local Sanford schools. Adrienne found great pleasure in bird watching and all of nature in general. In her younger years she found great solice in oil painting and was quite artistic. She enjoyed family gatherings and loved to tell stories of the past. Her detail of history was fascinating. Adrienne had a keen sense of humor and really enjoyed a good laugh. She will be greatly missed. She is predeceased by her husband, Irving Kalman, son, Keith Kalman, daughter, Lynn (Kalman) Langlois. She is also predeceased by four brothers, Roland Chevalier, Albert Chevalier, Raymond Chevalier and Claude Chevalier as well as one sister, Claire (Chevalier) Fuller. She is survived by one daughter, Aleta (Kalman) Campbell and her husband Donald of Sanford, two brothers, Paul Chevalier and his wife, Germaine of Sanford and Maurice Chevalier and his wife, Dorothy of Waxhaw, NC. She is also survived by her daughter in law, Janet Kalman, son in law, Dennis Langlois, sister in law, Velma Chevalier and very close friend, Ellie Rodrigue, four grandchildren, Colleen, Ryan, Andrew and Nathan, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Many thanks go out to the staff at the Mayflower Place along with Greenwood Center and Hospice for all your support. Adrienne couldn't give enough praise as to how wonderful everyone was to her. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wendesday, July 22, at 11am at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church in Springvale. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Springvale. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.
